Saw Phaik Hwa, who joined SMRT Corporation in a blaze of colour almost a decade ago, went out with a fizzle yesterday. Tan Ek Kia, an SMRT board member and a former senior executive at Shell, will act as interim CEO while the board looks for a new one.

problem is that there are limited number of singapore who want to be dogs, but malaysian not the same, they are dogs in their homeland, they fit in singapore very well. The best thing we can do is kick out all malaysian from singapore, that is for the best.

Firstly ,its so easy for Mdm Saw to bail out when the heat is on!What sort of CEO is she or organisation is this?
Why are Singaporeans not nurtured to take up important positions? If all the key positions are going to foreigners, where do the Singaporeans get their opportunity to sharpen/develop their expertise? In the foreign country?
So why should any singaporeans be loyal to their country when the government don't give a damn and its only interested in maximising profits for ther own rewards?
Even the director is a Malaysian and worst of all he is an ex shellian who know nuts about MRT systems?
Why do we need to serve NS , to protect who?

Remember what our former MM said! Singaporeans are daft. Surely we are but he forgot that he is also a Singaporean. How to give them top jobs ?

I seriously dun care who is the CEO as long as he can do the job well.

For once, they put an engineer as CEO and not some retailer shit-head. It is public transport and not shopping malls...

If it's a Sinkie, it would be some ex-general/rear admirer SAF scholar-trash, or some well-connected pro-establishment lackey (e.g. Gerard Ee).

The game is rigged, and you can't win.

Singaporean that are smart/qualified enough to be CEO would rather be a ministar earning their million $ salary the easy way rather then face the wrath of millions of commuters everyday.

Running a mass rapid transit system is an extremely complex operation. You don't expect simpletons to be able to do the job.

This is a very good opportunity for a Sinkie. If he looks at the system and finds more shit, it benefits him because there will be more for him to improve on. He can buy himself more time by shifting all the blame to that obnoxious butch. "I hope the public will be patient. We are doing our best to clear up the mess caused by Ms Saw..." With the MRT system already in such a sorry state, any improvements made to it will be very obvious. He can claim most or all of the credit.
