Actually, what so good about Symbian ? They live in their own ivory tower and thinking that they can churn out craps and people will still be loyal to it. What about Apple ? Many still buy an overpriced and substandard product ?

Apple makes high quality products

"overpriced" - maybe

To date I have had an ipod mini crap out after 16 months, an ipod nano crap out after 15 months, and an iphone 3G crap out after 6 weeks. Apple refused to replace the ipods, despite them only being a few months out of warranty and having no water or impact damage, and agreed that the faults were with failed hard drives. The iphone was replaced under warranty, as the flash drive/player had failed.

Apple products are very well thought out and designed, and made out of pure shite.

the latter. way overpriced, and way over-hyped.
it's not that they're not good, it's just that they're worth a lot less than what you pay for them.

my brother an I just had a conversation about this the other day. he had an ipod at one point, and yes, it crapped out fast. their computers are so expensive and not better than others, at least not by enough to warrant the difference in price.

1) Symbian is open source and ecosystem-neutral (won't have Apple/Google/Microsoft pushing you into using their software and online services).

2) Symbian's hardware requirements are minimal. It runs fast on a single core. No need for dual core or quad core madness.

3) Symbian has superb battery life. No other OS from other vendors can come close.

-----

Apple is in charge of its own hardware and software. As a result, quality is more consistent than just making the OS and leaving it to OEM hardware partners to produce the finished product.

Apple also pays attention to the tiniest details.

If you don't want to pay a premium for Apple products, that's perfectly fine but stop hating on those who do.
Alternatively, you can always buy Apple products that are one generation behind for some discounted price.

Disclaimer: I have not yet owned a single Apple product. That may change in the (near?) future. It depends.
