I do not know if he can be a good soldier but he has the cut to be a good politician. You are right about the armour officers nowadays. During my time in SOA, the specialist training is a few times tougher than the officer's training.

that the problem when saf staffed the SOA of CMI regulars as trainers. CMIs regulars can trained out good competent commanders? dont mind me for saying this, even the sgt who go thru Sispec cannot compare to those 2IC who go to SOA after 1yr as pengkia. one years in the ranks will know who a good soldier and who not.
keechui was respected as a battlion commander but see how he turn out now. i have no problem having army men becoming politician but those that go to pap as lackey can go take a flying fark at a rolling donut as far as i concern.

Should be middle income family. Grew up in Ghim Moh. 5-rm flat if I recall rightly. CM created history in the RSAF. Was told specifications to a fighter jet was made to accommodate his lack of height.
