The world's oldest profession is not immune to a gloomy economic mood, writes Edmund Tadros..

THE number of prostitutes in NSW is expected to increase by almost 10 per cent as tough economic conditions force more people - mainly women - into the legal and illegal sex industry.

Incomes are also expected to fall by 5 per cent this year and by more than 20 per cent in the next six years as clients switch to cheaper - and sometimes illegal - service providers or meet sex partners using internet sites.

Illegal brothels make up almost one-quarter of all brothels inNSW, industry analysts IBISWorld reports. Nationally there are about 1500 illegal venues and 5100 legal venues.

There are about 5600 sex workers in NSW with estimates there will be about 6100 workers by 2008-09.

As the number of workers increases, customers are cutting back on their spending.

The revenue for legal brothels in NSW is expected to drop from $403 million for 2007-08 to an estimated $357 million for 2008-09, IBISWorld calculates.

Easy solution for a pervert like you.

Beg, steal or borrow a nurse uniform and go to Geylang. Tell PRC your fetish of the nurse uniform while fucking her. Pay extra if needed.

If the economy worsens, more women become hookers, then men will also visit prostitutes less than before.

So isn't this going to affect the prostitution business with the current prostitutes getting lesser customers than before?
