National Service conscription in its full spirit is a cause to arm and train young citizens to defend the country in times of need.

Only in SG where NSmen can be a mata or firefighter which is bascially a civil service job...might as well make NSmen become Perm Secs too.

It is unnecessary, and very unlikely that the Singapore will extend NS beyond the current two year period.
The active reservist annual training may vary from 7 to 12 years.
