Mechanic to face murder trial

TWO years ago, the decomposed body of 47-year-old real estate agent Choo Xue Ying was found in some bushes at Bukit Batok Nature Park. The investigation trail led to mechanic Rosli Yassin, 50, who was charged a month later with murdering her.
The killing was said to have taken place on Oct 16, 2008, four days before her body was discovered. Yesterday, after a preliminary inquiry, Rosli was committed to go on trial in the High Court on the murder charge. If convicted, he faces the mandatory death penalty. A two-week trial has been scheduled to run from Oct 25.
