FOR three days, over 60 police officers stood on the lookout at MRT Stations and pawnshops around the island.
They were looking for 53-year-old Lim Choon Gui, who is believed to have robbed at least 10 elderly women in their 60s to 80s.
Lim was finally caught on Wednesday near Bedok MRT Station, after being spotted by sharp-eyed police officers.
He is accused of being responsible for 10 robberies committed between May 24 and June 25 2011. The robberies were commited at multiple housing estates such as Bedok, Tampines, Ang Mo Kio, Hougang and Toa Payoh.
Lim had allegedly confronted his victims in lifts. He would push them forcefully and snatch the gold chains they were wearing - before making a run for it.
It is understood that Lim would travel by MRT and try to sell the stolen jewellery at nearby pawnshops.
