A plumber was jailed for a day and fined $5,000 on Friday for smashing the windscreen and windows of a van with a spanner.
Seow Siow How, 53, admitted to committing mischief by causing damage of $2,641 to the van driven by Mr Myint San, 57, along Corporation Road on March 30 this year.
The court heard that Seow was driving a lorry which was involved in a sideswipe collision with the technician's van. This caused the van's left mirror to come loose.
When the two vehicles came to a stop at a red light junction, Seow wound down his right window and used the spanner to hit the windscreen of the van, which cracked but did not shatter.
