MANJUNG - A woman who thought she heard someone playing firecrackers outside her house was shocked when she found her husband bleeding from gunshot wounds.
In the 9.30pm incident on Saturday, Steven Ling Hock Chuan, 33, was believed to have been shot with a pistol by several individuals who had ambushed him outside his house in Taman Sejati Dua Seri Manjung here.
The victim, who was shot at least three times, died hours after receiving treatment at Manjung Hospital.
Deputy district police chief Deputy Superintendent Ahmad Mat Isa said the victim had gone out for dinner with his wife and other family members before the incident.
"We are still investigating. Those with information should contact us immediately."
