SINGAPORE: A former part-time accountant of a printing company was jailed two years on Friday for forging his ex-director's signature on cheques before cashing them to withdraw S$26,847 worth of company funds.
47-year-old Neale Goh Kheng Swee who used to work at Compass Matrix admitted he had forged 59-year-old Ho Chee Loon's signature between November 2009 and March this year.
He committed the offence 24 times in all, drawing up to S$3,500 dollars each time.
Mr Ho knew Goh from church and decided to employ him as he was not working at that time.
Mr Ho then entrusted him with the company's chequebooks but soon decided to lodge a police report after he had found out about the younger man's antics.
Goh originally faced 24 charges but 14 of them were taken into consideration.
He could have been jailed up to ten years and fined for each charge. - CNA/fa
