A man, who filmed an upskirt video of a woman on an escalator, was jailed for two weeks on Monday.
Edwin Tay Xing Yew, 25, had pleaded guilty to insulting the modesty of the 24-year-old woman on the escalator of Dhoby Ghaut MRT station on July 5 last year.
The court heard that he was on the escalator when he used his mobile phone to film an upskirt video of the victim who was standing a few steps ahead of him.
The flash light from his phone caught the attention of another member of the public -a 25-year-old woman - who approached the victim and told her about it.
Thirteen other similar charges of insulting the modesty of unknown women at Dhoby Ghaut and Raffles Place MRT stations were taken into consideration during his sentencing.
He could have been jailed for up to one year and/or fined.
