A 31-year-old man believed to have stolen from a lorry in Jalan Bukit Merah has been arrested.
On Monday, a 40-year-old man, who parked his lorry at a carpark in the area at about 3.30pm, returned 20 minutes later to find a bag and a pouch missing from the vehicle.
He had left his lorry window partially open. Items stolen included cash, a cashcard and two mobile phones amounting to about $1,500 in total.
Two days later, the suspect was arrested at Blk 6 Jalan Bukit Merah at about 7.30 pm.
A mobile phone and some personal documents were found in his possession and seized as case exhibits.
Investigations against him are ongoing for his possible involvement in other cases of theft.
If convicted of theft, he faces a maximum imprisonment term of three years, a fine, or both.
