SINGAPORE - A 43-year-old man was arrested for stealing from two retail outlets.
The man was suspected of stealing about $60 each from the cash registers.
He is believed to have stolen the money after asking for refunds for purchases he made.
After the cashiers realised that a customer had stolen the money, they reported the matter to the police and provided them with CCTV footage as well.
The investigations led the police to raid a hotel in Chinatown on Nov 14, where the suspect was arrested at about 6pm.
He was found with $400, which investigations revealed that he had stolen from other outlets as well.
If found guilty the suspect can be jailed up to three years and/or fined.
