Man arrested for breaking into commercial building along Bukit Timah Road
Police arrested a man believed to have been involved in a series of housebreakings and thefts along Bukit Timah Road.

SINGAPORE - A man believed to be involved in a series of housebreaking and theft cases along Bukit Timah Road has been arrested.
The police received several reports of break-ins at a commercial building along Bukit Timah Road between Dec 14 last year and Jan 18 this year.
After investigations, the suspect, 31, was arrested at Woodlands Checkpoint on Wednesday (Jan 20).

If convicted of housebreaking and theft by night, he could be jailed up to 14 years.
In a news release on Thursday (Jan 21), the police advised property owners to ensure all doors, windows and other openings are well-secured with good quality grilles and padlocks. They are also advised to install burglar alarms, motion sensor lights or surveillance cameras to cover access points and to keep large sums of cash in banks and expensive jewellery in a safe deposit box.
