Man accused of instigating grievous hurt
By Elena Chong
A RETIREE was charged in court on Tuesday with instigating a man to cause grievous hurt to his brother-in-law.
Koh Poh Yim, 68, is said to have abetted the offence by providing a chopper to one Lee Eng Peng, 52, unemployed, at a coffee shop near Tiong Bahru Plaza on Jan 20 to cause grievous hurt to Mr Lim Beng Heng, 62.
The grievous hurt was not carried out. When Koh was charged in the morning, he had no lawyer.
In the afternoon, when the case came up for mention before Community Court judge Ng Peng Hong, Mr Steven Lam said his client was not pleading guilty.
The case is fixed for a pre-trial conference on Jan 31.
