Man, 42, arrested for alleged housebreaking

SINGAPORE - The police have arrested a 42-year-old male suspect for breaking into a shop located in the vicinity of Dover Road.
Police officers received a report of shop broken into in the Dover Road area on Mar 18 at about 6am.
The culprit had broken the glass panel of the shop and made off with over $5,000 worth of mobile phones and other electronic items.
After extensive follow-up investigations, the officers arrested the suspect in the Havelock Road on Apr 3 at about 11am. Preliminary investigations are ongoing to determine the suspect's involvement in other cases of theft.
The suspect will be charged in court on Apr 5 for the offences of Housebreaking and Theft by Night under Section 457 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he faces a jail term which may extend to 14 years.
