Three men and a woman, who identified themselves as supporters of Donald Trump, have been taken to hospital with non life-threatening knife injuries, which they received in a fight near the White House, DC police said.
It was not immediately clear if the fight had any connection with a protest rally staged in front of the presidential residence on election night.
The scuffle happened near the intersection of 14th Street and New York Avenue Northwest around 2:30am EST, police reported. Law enforcement are now looking for three suspects over the incident.
Stabbing: 1400 b/o New York Avenue, NW. LOF: Lookout is for Suspects (1 & 2) B/Ms wearing all black clothing and Suspect (3) B/F wearing black sweatpants w/ white stripe, orange leggings and a dark gray coat armed with a knife

The victims said they were members of the Proud Boys, a right-wing pro-Trump group. The police said the suspects may be part of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement, according to CBS affiliate WUSA9.
A Twitter account for Black Lives Matter angrily rejected this, saying it was a lie and that outlets reporting it were “doing irresponsible dangerous journalism.”
.@wusa9 this is a LIE! You all are doing irresponsible dangerous journalism. @Mvmnt4BlkLives or @DMVBlackLives have nothing to do with these stabbings. Shame on @ChiefNewsham@DCPoliceDeptsharing false information. This story need to be retracted. https://t.co/HgghAZXDhL

Right-wing website the Gateway Pundit reported that one of the victims was Enrique Tarrio, the chairman of the Proud Boys. He told the outlet that his stomach was slashed during the altercation. Conservative activist Bevelyn Beatty was also stabbed during the altercation, according to the site.
A video purportedly showing the fight and its immediate aftermath, including the arrival of a police patrol, is circulating on social media. The party that shot the video can be heard in it claiming they had been “jumped by Black Lives Matter” and discussing the injuries their members sustained.

The US is tensely awaiting the final tally of votes in the Tuesday presidential election, which failed to produce a clear-cut victory for either incumbent Donald Trump or Democrat Joe Biden. As the pressure mounts, many Americans are participating in rallies in large cities, including Washington, DC.
There were some minor scuffles with the police overnight in DC, but otherwise the situation remained peaceful. Ahead of election day, many shop owners had boarded up their businesses, fearing possible rioting and looting.

As Americans await final results to a knife-edge presidential election, President Donald Trump has suggested fraud could be at play in states where he claims to have been leading only to have Joe Biden close the gap.
“Last night I was leading, often solidly, in many key States, in almost all instances Democrat run & controlled,” Trump tweeted on Wednesday.
“Then, one by one, they started to magically disappear as surprise ballot dumps were counted,” he continued, adding that “pollsters” got this election “completely & historically wrong.”

The message was flagged and labeled possibly "misleading" by Twitter.
The president did not specify what specific states he was referring to, but important swing states like Wisconsin and Michigan remain at play, with Biden ahead in both, according to reporting from The Associated Press. All three states have governors from the Democrat Party.
Trump followed up his tweet with another questioning “mail-in ballot dumps.”
“How come every time they count Mail-In ballot dumps they are so devastating in their percentage and power of destruction?”
he tweeted.

The president has been critical of mail-in voting and has blasted states like Pennsylvania for accepting ballots sent by mail days after polls close. Those ballots, however, are still required to be sent out by a certain date and cannot be filled out past polls closing.
Several of the states still up for grabs - like Nevada and Georgia - stopped counting on Tuesday evening and resumed the following morning due to thousands of absentee ballots waiting.

Some counties in Pennsylvania, a critical swing state with 20 electoral votes, had not even planned on counting mail-in ballots until Wednesday morning. These ballots, of which there are record numbers in many states due to the Covid-19 pandemic, could critically change the results of close races.
Earlier on Tuesday, Trump accused his opponents of trying to “steal” the election and warned that ballots cast after polls close should not be counted. Many polling locations, however, announced extended hours due to pandemic restrictions slowing the process of actually voting down. As long as someone is at a polling location at the time of official closing, they have the right to vote.
“We are up BIG, but they are trying to STEAL the Election. We will never let them do it. Votes cannot be cast after the Polls are closed!” he tweeted. The message was also flagged by Twitter as possibly “misleading.”

In an election night speech, the president said “fraud” was underway and declared himself the winner of the race, despite not enough states being called for a winner to be determined.
During his speech, the president announced he was “clearly” the winner of both North Carolina and Georgia, two states where he holds a slight lead over Biden, but neither have been officially called yet.
ALSO ON RT.COMTrump bid to stop vote counting ‘outrageous’ & ‘unprecedented’ – Biden camp
Biden’s campaign manager, Jen O’Malley Dillon, has slammed the president for calling early victories and for trying to disregard “duly cast ballots.”
“The president’s statement tonight about trying to shut down the counting of duly cast ballots was outrageous, unprecedented, and incorrect,”
she said on election night.
