Reading thru the posts.. I too am quite convinced that pappies supporters may have turned on their "masters".
First of all, no tampering with the locks to the roof.. so they would have keys.
Second, from the work that was done, it appears that equipment must have been used.. ladders or harness for safety or whatever (this is my guess.. as the ledge seems not too wide). From the completed work.. quite some time seems to have been spent.. and without proper equipment, it may not be possible.
Next.. I did not hear that there was any CCTV footage.. who points to more of "inside" job.. or a very well-planned act by not one.. but more people.
As to whether Singaproeans or FTs are behind this.. I can only speculate.. but I hope it is a combination of BOTH!
Wouldn't it be great if it was a combined effort? It is very possible.. as not all foreigners may like what the pappies are doing.
But.. it is indeed a telling sign that the "cracks" are getting bigger.. and the tolerance of the people are wearing very thin. If GE is held next year.. I don't think pappies can feel very confident, in view of this incident.. right smack in Toa Payoh itself.
