AN INDONESIAN maid lost her balance and fell eleven floors to her death while hanging laundry from the kitchen window.
Ms Isnaeni Gunartri, 24, had been working for the household at Block 413 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 for about 2 1/2 weeks before the incident on April 20.
At a coroner's inquiry into her death on Wednesday, the court heard that she could have stretched her body out of the kitchen window to hang the clothing when she fell.
An investigation officer said that Ms Gunartri was likely to have held onto the hanging pole when she fell but the pole broke as it could not support her weight.
She was believed to have hit a hanging pole and window panel of a third-floor unit before she landed on the ground.
She was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead slightly more than an hour later. State Coroner Victor Yeo recorded a verdict of misadventure on her death.
