Low is only Secretary-General because at that time, he was the only WP MP and thus considered most qualified for the Secretary-General post. If there were others, it is highly unlikely he will be appointed to Secretary-General. At that time, Low is mainly low profile, hardly make a dent in parliament and considered "approved opposition" in parliament together with Chiam See Tong. Since winning Aljuned, Low is then considered a big shot among the opposition. His English is too horrible to make an impression to English speakers.

Not for you to say, it is for the voters to decide. So far so good, he always remained in parliament while other oppositions didn't quite get the voters mandate to enter parliament. Yup, not for you to say how good or how bad he was. In the end, votes matter.

Low TK speaks better and more logical than many million dollar ministars. The fact that he has lasted so long attest to his ability to adapt and respond appropriately to the harsh vitriolic environment put up by the papies in parliament.

You think any ministars could survive as well as him? - LOL they could have packed up and scammed overseas to permanent residence and then new citizenship the moment the first hints of trouble started.....many 'retired' ministars have now joined their families in Australia, NZ. Canada, UK or the USA. The fact that wooden goh is still around is because of the $3 million stipend, or else, would have joined his quitter daughter overseas long long long time ago.
