Loanshark runner arrested at Woodlands Crescent

SINGAPORE: Police have arrested a 44-year-old man for suspected involvement in loansharking activities.
On Jan 8 at 9.50pm, police officers came across a commotion in the vicinity of Woodlands Crescent.
Upon interviewing the parties involved, the officers found a mobile phone containing loanshark-related messages from the suspect.
He was arrested and the mobile phone was seized.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is believed to have conducted harassment activities at the area.
Investigations are ongoing.
If the suspect is found guilty of loanshark harassment, he shall be fined between $5,00 and $50,000 with mandatory imprisonment of up to five years and caning of up to six strokes.
