If Lim Kit Siang wins in Gelang Patah, will he be making Gelang Patah a more attractive place for Singaporeans to buy houses/retirement homes and safer place to live? Will the property prices in Taman Nusantara, Taman Nusa Perintis go up? Since it is so close to Singapore, will Lim Kit Siang be having more talks with LTK to have greater cooperation.

How? In what way?

10 years ago LKS was a pariah and is nothing more than a nuisance to the government. Today, depending on the outcome of the fight in Gelang Patah, he may well be a senior minister or deputy prime minister of Malaysia. LTK share this same mentality as LKS 10 years ago, LTK think WP is not ready to be government, maybe LKS can give some lessons to LTK on how to be ambitious and be ready to be the government. LTK is still just thinking about capturing GRC, he should be thinking about capturing the country like LKS thinking about capturing PutraJaya.

There are many valuable lessons to be learned from Malaysia. The Malaysians are more politically mature than Singaporeans. If it takes 50 years for Malaysians to achieve political maturity, it will take a 100 years for Singapore to mature. In the mean time, while Singapore is resigned to the high cost of living, lack of free speech, and political cronyism, the Malaysians enjoyed a higher standard of political freedom and living.

LKS has been doing this for 40 years. The guy is fearless and his kakis like Karpal Singh have been detained twice, suspended from Parliament, became MP for numerous seats and the fire has never died. There is no opposition politician in Singapore that comes close to this guy in terms of his electoral success. WHo would have thought that his son would be Chief Minister of Penang when the two of them were from Batu Pahat.

The reason that Malaysians are more politically mature despite both having come out from the same political cauldron is the way they treat politicians. When Operations Coldstore began, those born in Malaysia and holding Malaysian citizenship were sent across the border shortly after arrest. All of them gained their freedom after a short period of detention.

Old man refused to release the ones detained in Singapore unless they signed his confession papers and he therefore detained the guys from the same operations for years. One went on to make a world record of 32 years and the rest close to 1 or 2 decades. He literally tabooed any form of politics unless it was PAP politics.

Is this recorded anywhere in our history books, or printed in ST? If not, you have to double confirm with the blurfucks and kukubirds in this forum otherwise you will be accused of whitewashing our glorious history where Old Man always rode into the action to rescue the damsel in distress like Lone Ranger from the villains.

Agree. Malaysian Opposition parties therefore had the opportunity for 50 years to practise the Opposition role while Singapore Opp parties were incarcerated, persecuted, hunted and chased into exile, or sued until bankrupt.

Thats the clear difference between a Malay and a Chinese when they have power in their hands. One a benevolent, easy-going prince and the other a vindictive paranoic power-hungry bastard.

Tomorrow I am meeting up with Chia Thye Poh and then we going down to the lawyers to do a Stat Dec. Hope that will help. I am also bringing Lemans to join me because he wants to see Chia Thye Poh for himself and that the man actually exist.

This is one of the easier results to call. Thanks to Singapore, Johor has a very high concentration of Chinese voters. These hav turned overwhelmingly away from MCA. I expect an easy win for LKS and 70% chance for PR taking Johor from BN.
