Real picture of LG Nexus 5 2015 has been leaked Twitter/MKBHD (Marques Brownlee)

Even though the rumor mill has been consistently revealing information on the purported LG Nexus 5 (2015) smartphone, the real names of the handset has remained under the wraps. Fresh reports reveal that the handset will be launched with the moniker Nexus 5X.

According to Android Authority, its unnamed source has revealed that the LG Nexus 5X and the Huawei Nexus 6 (2015) will be available for purchase from Google Store staring from Sept. 29. A report from CNET published Thursday stated that Google would be unleashing its new Nexus smartphones on Sept. 29 through a mega launch event at San Francisco.

Android Authority adds that even though its source is claiming that the real moniker of the LG variant is LG Nexus 5X, Google is yet to decide an official name for the handset. As speculations have suggested in the past, the LG Nexus 5X that will arrive preloaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow is dubbed as the upgraded version of the LG Nexus 5 that was released in 2013.

Its source also confirms previous rumors and leaked photos by stating that the LG Nexus 5X has a circular fingerprint sensor below the raised rear camera that is accompanied by dual LED on its side. The LG Nexus 5X will be available in two internal storage versions of 16 GB and 32 GB. It is not known whether a 64 GB LG Nexus 5X will be launched or not.

It will come in color schemes like black, white and blue. It will not be sporting a metal body but is expected to feature a polycarbonate rear along with a USB Type-C connector on its bottom side.

As far as the pricing of the device is concerned, the LG Nexus 5X is expected to be $50 costlier than the original Nexus 5 from 2013. The 16 GB model is likely start at $399 whereas the 32 GB model could be priced at $449.
