Legal Voting Age

At the age of 18, you are legally able to sign a lifetime bond, drink alcohol, and put your life on the life for your country by serving national service. Yet you are not able to vote for the government you want for your country.

Has anyone every brought this up to their MP that the voting age should be lowered to 18? Imagine the impact this will have on the results of an election.

A petition should be set up for parliament to table a bill on this. What reason could the government have to not letting 18 year olds vote when they expect them to lay down their lives and defend their country? They are not mature enough to decide their government, but they are mature enough to die for it?

I believe the voting age should be lowered to 18.

Exactly. I wonder how many NS boys are frustrated and upset that they have to fight for a government which they have no say in choosing.

legal age for voting, viewing R(A) : 21

if they lower the voting age to 18, it will only be for the better for our society.
