Never stand in the way of a Lee family member requiring promotion. The hard truth is that Lee Kuan Yew's daughter wouldn't hold the post of director of NNI if the previous director hadn't been mysteriously fixed. He was an obstacle to Wei Ling's promotion. He was fired for wrongdoing and a web of deceit concocted around him.

Our government made a concerted effort to tarnish his professional reputation and asked the UK medical council to strike him off. Fortunately the PAP's influence has limits. Although they could remove my late father as a lawyer through a trumped up case here they couldn't do the same thing to a doctor overseas once he left our shores.

Back in his home country he was able to fight his case and prove his innocence. That former head of NNI was fully supported by the General Medical Council in Britain and no wrongdoing was found so his reputation was salvaged although of course he had lost his job as director of NNI by then.

A medical watchdog then issued an warning advising foreign doctors not to take up posts in Singapore.

So who then filled his vacant seat? Lee Wei Ling his former subordinate quietly succeeded him as director.

This place is ruled by the dictator LKY. How else the two sons LHL and LHY can be promoted to generals in the SAF? Who dare stand in the way?

The same genes of divide and rule that is found in LKY is also found in his off springs.

She could easily promote her herself over him and create a new job title such as director supremo etc.....
Her bro got that treatment in Singtel with a specially created post....lky and woody also gave themselves fancy dumb job titles.

Sue Shorvon, Lancet for libel in Britain

IF THE Singapore Medical Council (SMC) feels that Professor Simon Shorvon's article in The Lancet 'perpetuates highly defamatory allegations' which The Lancet refuses the SMC a right to reply ('SMC in tiff with journal over right of reply'; ST, Aug 30), then the appropriate course of action is for SMC to start legal proceedings in the British High Court against both Prof Shorvon and The Lancet for libel.

In any case, by not appealing the British High Court judgment against it last December, the SMC, by its own criterion, failed to disprove that it lacked 'integrity and independence' in its inquiry and disciplinary proceedings against Prof Shorvon.

It was SMC's executive secretary, Dr Lau Hong Choon, who had earlier stated that the SMC felt compelled to pursue the British General Medical Council's cancellation of its inquiry, into allegations against Prof Shorvon, in the British High Court because failure to do so would call into question the SMC's 'integrity and independence'.It is therefore imperative that the SMC commence legal proceedings for libel against The Lancet and Prof Shorvon in the British High Court to protect its high reputation, unless it feels that it cannot receive justice from the British judiciary.

Merely having a letter by London-based researcher Dr Malcolm Greaves published in The Lancet about his own experience of working in Singapore is as good as the Malaysian government saying that Johor is not as crime-ridden as it is made out to be, since tens of thousands of Singaporeans visit Johor daily with the figure much higher during school holidays.

Let me recount the story of Tan Wah Piow. The CNB was told to raid the address of Tan Wah Piow. The officers found nothing incriminating. The CNB was not happy with the chief leading the raid. He was indirectly reprimanded for not planting some drugs in his place. That officer kena hentak kaki till his retirement.

We know the establishment had to get TWP into some sort of trouble to alleviate the pressure TWP was asserting on the PAP gahmen. The next incident involved the trump up charges against him and two others. The kangaroo judge Sinnathuray convicted TWP although the facts were in dispute.

The general consensus is that Tan and his friends ridiculed the unions over the retrenched workers and failing to act on their behalf. They did this by going to the premises of the companies and catching the headlines. And Phey fixed him. The consensus is Sinnathuray convicted him on filmsy evidence.

The thing about CNB is truly far fetched. No Government servant is going to order his staff to do something like that and no government servant is going to take an order like that. Common sense will suggest that they get some crook to plant the drug and then tip the CNB. Even then nobody will believe as TWP was well known amongst Singaporeans and his University classmates. CNB will smell a rat. .
