Rename airport after MM Lee

MINISTER Mentor Lee Kuan Yew has made Singapore what it is today with a team of dedicated peers. He is Singapore's living history and highly regarded by world leaders for his vision and measured opinions.

Much as he has played the role of a 'third eye', his decision to leave the Cabinet signals his confidence in letting a new team shoulder the burden of Singapore. This is indeed a turning point.

At this juncture, we and the Government must find an appropriate way to recognise him for his contributions to the nation so they will remain etched in the minds of current and future generations.

Let us take this opportunity to rename Changi Airport Lee Kuan Yew International Airport - an apt choice to highlight his vision and leadership. Honour him while he is still with us.

Why dont all of us sit down and start from the very beginning. Let;s first decide what edifices/buildings/landmarks etc need renaming and then determine if Lee Kuan Yew is the most apt one or there are others.

Heck, why not rename Singapore as Lee Kuan Yew Island? I mean, can anything in Singapore be larger than the man himself?
