Local Asrama Student Paralysed After Classmate Assaults Him Over Pornographic Videos

A young student, Malik ElFikry, had been trying to do the right thing in school and confronted his classmate about his questionable actions. Regretfully, it only made said classmate lash out at the boy. The young child has since been hospitalised as the blow rendered him paralysed.
Yesterday (12th July), a local mom had been going about her daily business when she received a phone call that would leave her heartbroken. The call had apparently been from the warden of the hostel her son, Malik ElFikry, had been staying at. The warden told her that her child had been paralysed because another child had kicked him in the head.
“Fikry, my sweet little boy,” his mother lamanted. “Those who know Fikry know how much this child does not like violence and confrontation. His heart is full of empathy, nurtured from young when he grew up with those who are homeless, orphans, the Orang Asli, and those vulnerable. But that’s the destiny of Allah which is heavy for a mother’s heart to bear, (especially) when someone else’s child can do as they wish to my own child.”
Fikry’s mother explained that Fikry had discovered one of his classmates spreading pornographic videos in their school’s Whatsapp group. As such, he had attempted to rebuke them. However, no one expected the other child to react violently, sneaking a strong kick to Fikry’s head. “Thankfully God (was looking out for) Fikry,” his mother added. “The doctor said if the kick had been lower, my world would have been darkened.”
His mother shared that Fikry is still able to move his hands and feet. However, he will need to undergo an MRI test to scan for internal injuries. “Pray for my son, Malik ElFikry to recover completely and (be kept safe) from harm,” his mother requested. She also added that they had already filed a police report about the matter.
Netizens have since left heartfelt encouragement for both Fikry and his family, with several hoping justice would be delivered for Fikry. As a comment read: “Hopefully the bullies get appropriately punished,” with another saying: “Ensure that the child (responsible) will be taken to task by the police.” One even added that this was why they were against sending kids to an asrama (boarding school). “Traumatised by bullying cases,” they added wryly.
Our hearts go out to Malik ElFikry and his family for all that they are enduring. We too will keep them in our prayers and hope Fikry recovers soon.
