Japan reports 197,792 coronavirus cases; 31,541 in Tokyo​

TOKYO

Japan on Sunday reported 197,792 new coronavirus cases.

The Tokyo metropolitan government reported 31,541 new coronavirus cases, down 1,925 from Saturday.

The number of infected people hospitalized with severe symptoms in Tokyo is 23, one down from Saturday, health officials said. The nationwide figure is 427, up 24 from Saturday.

Other prefectures reporting high numbers were Osaka (16,473), Kanagawa (15,088), Saitama (13,690), Aichi (11,085), Fukuoka (11,043), Chiba (9,507), Hyogo (9,442), Hokkaido (6,065), Kyoto (5,044), Okinawa (4,406), Shizuoka (3,884), Ibaraki (3,777), Kagoshima (3,184), Kumamoto (3,184), Miyagi (2,792), Hiroshima (2,560), Niigata (2,696), Okayama (2,392), Gifu (2,214) and Gunma (2,095).

The number of coronavirus-related deaths reported nationwide was 82.

Just a subjective observation.

Tokyo residents are most obedient and it's probably the top in compliance w.r.t. wearing masks.

It proves mask wearing is a waste of time, money and effort.

However :

1. What would the numbers be if mask were not worn?

2. What would the numbers be if people wore masks correctly?

3. What would the numbers be if people wore N95s?

No one knows. Anyway, just get infected (like me) and get it over and done with.
