At least 15 dead, 20 injured in knife attack at Kanagawa facility for disabled

TOKYO —
A knife-wielding man attacked residents at a facility for the disabled in Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture, early Tuesday, leaving at least 15 people dead and seriously injuring 20 others, local firefighters said. Four of the wounded are in a state of cardiopulmonary arrest, police said.
Kanagawa police arrested the 26-year-old man, a former employee at the facility, who turned himself in at the Tsukui Police Station around 3 a.m. Tuesday admitting to the attack, they said.
The police are investigating the motive behind the attack that took place at the Tsukui Yamayuri En (Tsukui Lily Garden) facility at about 2:30 a.m., they added.
