Does anybody know how much profit Singapore Pools make every year?
According to this site, it's 5 billion a year!
If it's so freaking profitable, don't you think the payments should be more generous? To help the poor who are the ones betting?
Okay, you can say people have a choice not to gamble - btw, it's called "game" or "games" in the Singapore Pools site. But, well, it's not something a lot of ordinary folks can rationally decide. Many buy hoping that Lady Luck would smile at them - they can't help it. And it's as convenient as getting on a cab, it's everywhere!
And if you have to pay $100 levy to go into a casino, why is free to bet in sports, 4D, Toto? Isn't betting gambling too? Why is restriction justified in one but not another? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying levies be imposed on 4D betting and such...
