Illegal gambling den at Geylang condominium raided

SINGAPORE - The police have arrested two men and a woman, aged between 33 and 39, on Wednesday for managing and gaming in an illegal gambling den at a condominium.
In a five-hour operation which started on June 12 at about 9.30pm, officers from Bedok Police Division raided a condominium located along Geylang Road.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the first male suspect had rented the condominium for the purpose of gambling, while the remaining suspects are believed to be patrons.
Eighteen modified computers and cash amounting to about $744 were also seized during the raid.
The 33-year-old male suspect and two other suspects will be charged in Court on June 14. If found guilty, he can be fined u to $50,000 or be jailed for up to three years. As for the patrons on an illegal gambling den, they may be fined up to $5,000 or sentenced to 6 months' jail.
