Who do you think is more heroic? This MOH officer going to the heart of the highly-contagious virus Ebola in Africa or Amos Yee?

MOH officer to help fight Ebola in West Africa

Published: 4:17 AM, May 1, 2015

SINGAPORE — A public health officer from the Ministry of Health (MOH) will be sent to West Africa to join international efforts in the fight against the highly-contagious virus Ebola.

The officer will be working with a team of experts from the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Western Pacific Regional Office’s Ebola Support Team (WEST) in the analysis of surveillance information on suspected and confirmed Ebola cases.

The officer will be deployed for six weeks and will not be involved in the care of Ebola patients, the MOH said yesterday.

The ministry will also maintain close contact with the officer for the duration of his deployment. WEST, which was launched in January, has its base in Port Loko, Sierra Leone.

Ebola, which causes fever and uncontrolled bleeding, spreads through close contact with a symptomatic person’s bodily fluids.

According to the WHO, blood, faeces and vomit are the most infectious fluids, while the virus is found mostly in saliva once patients become severely ill.

More than 10,800 people died from Ebola in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia last year.

Amos Yee is more heroic. Amos is a pioneer in insulting LKY on public youtube video. Nobody has gone where he went.

On the other hand, this anonymous officer is not a pioneer in Ebola rescue and treatment. The pioneers in Ebola treatment are mostly from ang mo countries which value freedom of speech unlike fascist Singapore. Some more he is not involved in the rescue and treatment. What a coward!

Who is more heroic ? This unnamed officer who is letting MOH take all the credit , or the million dollar ministers and top civil servants who get all the influence and publicity and still regard their work as a sacrifice.
In fact there are everyday heroes in our public services , like the cops , scdf people, workers in communicable disease centres, But none of them are celebrated like our scholars. Courage is the last quality I would associate with scholars.

Kind of what you would expect. I think the officer is sent there to learn so that we can learn to protect ourselves. Nevertheless it does take some spirit to venture there. I wouldn't be surprised if this officer is a woman. Even as a guy myself I despair of Sinkie guys. The girls seem more feisty.
Which Sinkie climbed Everest first ?
