HDB Town Council orders poisoning of pigeons

In this HDB estate, some residents feed pigeons by throwing down food. Other residents complain about the pigeon shit and noise. Town Council hires pest control to poison the pigeons. Pigeons die a slow and painful death. Someone records the video and posts it on YouTube and Stomp.

even animals who stay among sinkies will die from it too...

so now is not just human beings, animals too much stay away from sinkies.

Singapore is one of the islands that have birds and animals like pigeons and cats in abundance.

These animals co-exists among the people. Cats attack rats and even kill cockroaches, whereas pigeons pick up left-overs. Natural scavengers......

These pigeons and cats do not bother the people.

In fact a freind of mine from Indonesia was so impressed when he saw broods of pigeons basking in the sun on the grass below my flat. He asked me as to who owns them. When told that it was part of nature he was so impressed. According to him in Indonesia, with lots of jungles, he cannot find such wild-life in abundance for these pigeons would be trapped by the kampong folks and taken as lunch or dinner.

We have beautiful cockatoos roaming in Changi Village. Are we going to kill them too?

It is not right to "poison" such docile and inncocent creatures.

Think of some other better ways that would be more humane.

Why don't allow the many foreigners here (from countries that eat such birds) to trap this birds. Make and exception in the law and allow such people to poach such birds. This will make the numbers small.

Humane ways are done by real human beings, not sinkies.

then you'll have people like tonychat campaigning about bird flu, cruelty to bird. not very wise. then people like alamaking will resign and shoot birds for a living.

Those 2 got nothing to do and 24/7 here so send them to catch pigeons and solve the problem for us.
