This is the boys first and last olympic medal….his 15 minutes of fame….singos just don't have the focus and killer instinct to last in sport.

Expect to see at least the shameless politician like Teo Ser Luck and Grace Fu to be waving frantically at the crowds as if they are the gold medallist. Today on the news the Minister of Defence said that Mindef would extend his deferment He made it sound like they were doing him a favor.

I suspect if the PAP had insisted that Schooling returned to do his NS, it would have forced Schooling to make a difficult choice & it would have made the PAP look bad. By letting him go, they have a tool for future swimming victories & further photo oppurtunities.

still think only Tan Howe Liang is a true olympian and achievement is far greater than JS. Tan trained locally without any funds, trained part time while holding a full time job and with no support from garmen yet won silver. Had he trained full time and with garmen support way back then I am sure he would have won gold many times over. JS trained in texas , USA for past 7 years full time and it was the texans and USA who should get most of the credit especially for his swimming scholarships and USA coaches. sinkies contribution to his achievement is almost zero!!!! yet now so many sycophants and parasites leeching off his fame. sickening.

Let's give credit where credit is due. It takes more than just talent to reach the pinnacle of a chosen discipline. Personally, it doesn't really matter if he wins another olympic medal. I congratulate Schooling for the gutsy performance and he won it fair and square against the very best in the butterfly sprint.

There was no 'momentary lapse' as you put it on Phelp's part. His timings for the 100m fly in his olympic preparations were not even close to his olympic record he set years ago. Well done Schooling!!!!!
