Yeah, you can put it that way. I know so many "creative agencies" have cheep cheep graphic artists - because the Creative Director will tell them what he/she wants, and they just put it into action. Usually some poor SYT that doubles-up as office eye-candy.

2) Work unpaid OT because client requests last minute changes
3) Given low-res photo resources and asked to make it A3 "print-ready"
4) Deal with idiotic printers who don't know CMYK from RGB
5) Expected to code websites with a snap-of-your-fingers, and a wave of your magic wand
6) Deal with colleagues from Marketing who thinks because you are a HOPA and a graphic designer, you need sex every night to get your "creative juices flowing"

The only plus point? You get to work on a 24" iMac at least. But the shittiest part about that is because the screen is so big, everybody can see you bitching about work on FB.

If you are talking about agency life.
then 2k is just normal rate.

Bear in mind...creative line work more than usual working hours.
is not a 9-6 job.
Most of the times is 10-12hrs job.
When comes to pitching for clients...you can kiss your weekends goodbye.
even is public holidays.


1.4k is those local design houses who can't afford to pay.
see who desperate first...will call for the job.
