To add, if NSP does field a candidate not Nicole and loses badly without affecting the result, Madcow blame and wrath will go on Nicole again. If Nicole stands, the going back on her word not to stand will be sore point between NSP and WP. Madcow can stand one side and gleefully add fuel to fire. If Nicole scores a good result, Madcow is wise man. If so good a result that causes WP to lose Hougang, Madcow is god.
Whatever the case, GMS is small fry. The bigger issue in my view is Seb and Hazel. They have put to an end, knocked the death knell and written off any unwritten right for NSP to negotiate for a straight fight with PAP in any way in future. No one is ever going to look them in the eye and say will give way to them in the principle of avoiding 3CF. Apart from WP and Tampines, SDP is already eyeing Jurong while RP eyeing CCK - and they are still blind to open their options to an opposition ward.
