Singaporeans plying their skills abroad whether in the U.S, U.K or Australia will not want to come back here. Why?

Because they can have successful careers working with the best in their professions from all over the world. Many of them will have already studied at overseas universities and are already well connected with their host countries.

For the most talented, why settle for a five room flat in Tampines overlooking the MRT when you can live in a three storey town house with double garage in San Mateo County?

It's a no-brainer.

Singapore is simply a magnet to attract mediocre talent from the Philippines, PRC and Indian sub-continent. And of these, many are just using Singapore as a stepping stone to greater things elsewhere.

My younger sister moved to the California with her husband several years ago due to her husband's job, over there she found a better job than her previous job in Sinkieland. They bought a very nice landed house and two cars, all at very cheap prices compared to Sinkieland's ridiculous prices. My sister had also given birth to their only kid in the US, and they are settled and happily raising their kid there.

I've another older relative in her mid 50s who was retrenched last year by a big-4 accounting firm in Sinkieland. Instead of trying to find a similar job in Sinkieland which is very tough given her age, she decided to move to Utah where her alma mater is and managed to find a better job there quite fast.

Agree that many foreigners treat Sinkieland as a stepping stone because I've seen it, and these PRs made a big profits selling their flats before moving to Australia.
