I thoroughly enjoyed my day's trip to the Gardens By The Bay. I love the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest. They were simply fantastic. I will plan to go there at night. It will be another unforgettable experience. Yes,it is costly and it is expensive, but this is world class and with the world's highest Green House. Another great wonder of Green Technology.

The two places you must never miss when you go there - The Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest. I love the Cloud Forest the most simply because it is cooler and it is very comfortable, esp in the heat of the day. The whole place is like a mountain hike at about 2300 metres with all the vegetation ,including the cool temperate climatic conditions! Really marvellous!

i am glad u like it.

unlike u, i feel that SG was ripped of and someone managed to convince the pap to throw good money at them...some company has managed to reap huge profit from this overpriced project.

I hope that others who have been to GBTB wld express their feelings, either for or against such extravagance and negligent use of public funds like the YOG.

the pap has to be more accountable

ok, thanks tracey.
btw i agree with you on the cost. and I have never been and don't intend to go.

sir, it is a good experience. just take a stroll and see the New Singapore...after that, you will certainly be very proud of Singapore minus all the political baggages....just enjoy it. of course, if we start thinking about the money spent and then see our poor singaporeans suffering , you will definitely puke....

flowers, trees and gardens..for S$1B!!!!..how long can it last. will it go the way of the Chinese Garden, Japanese Garden or Tang Dynasty?
The plantations were brought from various countries, the concept and what kind of plants to be taken in was decided by a well known female Japanese plant specialist, I was supposed to do a book about it......

you are right Tracy. the way i see it, it is going to be very very expensive to maintain this unique eco-garden. the money have to come from somewhere if the entrance fees are insufficient...perhaps, the Gardens need more sponsors like our Night Safari - another great Singapore's icon.

it costs S$53m to maintain it now..how much will it cost to maintain it in 10years time...and these trees and flowers can be seen free in other countries.

so you see why i said it is sinful wastage of public funds..
but i suspect some TLCs or GLCs profiteered a lot from this project...

the S$1B is mind boogling for a garden and the maintenance cost will escalate as time goes by...and the S$1B does not include land costs.

The GBTB site is precious and expensive and can be made into much better use......I see that GBTB will be redeveloped in abt 20yrs time
