EV is an evolution from fossil fuel combustion car, & is meant to BENEFIT Humankind in many ways.

Unfortunately, EV tech had been almost destroyed by China's EV entrepreneurs in their drive to be top producer of EV car thru THOUGHTLESS MASS manufacturing of such.

The 1st car in our World was Ford's model T. It became a STANDARD for other car manufacturers - chassis, replaceable wheels, gear stick, steering wheel, odometer, etc. It took some time - years before the car replaced horse carriages.

The 1st EV car sold was just 2 mere years ago. Technically, such cars are still evolving. More tests should be conducted as well as STANDARDIZATION of onboard instruments & its functionality including the expensive ion-lithium batteries.

However, such was not done, & worse - China made its push, while those EV cars are cheap, there is NO standardization of onboard instruments or functionality - just a LCD screen & one has to dangerously take one's eyes off the roads to even open or close the side mirrors,.....& the modules are DIFFERENT for each car & model created by other China EV companies.

Thus adoption & adaptation, as well resale value, will not be easy, & many were left unsold...

VW Mr. Carlsten Intra is the only one that is heading in the right direction - at least more consumer testing to correct errors based upon feedback before selling even one of their Mobileye partnership EV cars.

Point is - Humanity must control tech progress & not let tech progress control us.

Cars were meant to be simple machines, but that innocuous EV car is anything but.

Should one have to go thru a 200 pages Manual to operate an EV car, then perhaps a separate Driving License & classes to be conducted would be needed for EV car drivers for safety's sake as well as maintenance for owners & car mechanic.

As there is NO standardization of EV cars & each model is different in functionalities, there may come a time when an EV driving license & classes conducted are only applicable to that model alone.

Before such happens, may car manufacturing industry sit down & work out on Standardization, regardless of country or political leanings. Without such, it will be a quick death for EV cars, & fossil fuel producers laughing all the way to the banks despite toxic fumes from continued production & use of combustion engine cars harming our World....

Point is - Humanity must control tech progress & not let tech progress control us.

To further elaborate on this point so that even the simple minded or the greed filled with specific self serving interest groups understand:-

With Nature, Humankind has NO control over, as there are sciences involved yet to be known, thus we mere mortals have to adapt to Nature.

However, with Technology, which is MAN - MADE, we Humanity can still control it, either thru further education, legislation, hands on or on the job training, etc funded by those whom want us to ADOPT such tech to ensure their own profitability, as NO biz enterprise is a charity org for sure.

Thus, it is NOT WE Humankind whom should adapt to Tech progress, but Tech progress thru its entrepreneurs & engineers to ADAPT to Humanity, to leave none behind.

To also elaborate on STANDARDIZATION of cars that were meant to be simple,:-

1. Open the car door, which is how a simple door would work - turn the knob.
2. Adjust the seat for comfort, to be able to reach the brakes, accelerator or clutch, the rear view & side mirrors, wind down the windows or turn on a knob/button for aircon or heater.
3. Ensure the gear stick is at NEUTRAL, then only turn on the key engine with brakes applied for safety.
4. Step on the accelerator ( & clutch if manual) then free the gear, have ARO ( all round observation) & engage the correct gear to move off.
5. Check the fuel level, the heat & speedometer to drive safely with signal lights & wipers if in rain, maintain safe distance from another car.
6. Test the brakes often, watch the instruments, & then when reach destination, step on brakes, engage the handbrake, free the gear, turn off the engine, roll up the windows & step off the car with keys to lock the door.

Unfortunately, with EV cars from China, even Tesla which seeks to be the STANDARD, there is NO STANDARDIZATION....... yet, if at all.

Some EV cars need the sensor key to engage the flushed door handle to pop open by tapping the sensor on the car body, some just simply open the door like a normal handle, sit down & the engine starts with no start buttons, some with no lights or handbrakes or its buttons as it is fully auto, etc, etc, & worse if not dangerous - the owner has to look at the touch screen LCD display to operate certain functions which are multi-layered instead of FOCUSING on the street one is driving....and I DARE NOT even touch on the issue of shut down procedures for EV cars which are different with each model..... It is a COMPLICATED mess & happens even within the same brand but different models,

It can be said that when one buys an EV car, training may be provided, often lackluster, but a 200 page manual for an owner to MEMORIZE & operate it?
