The autopsy considers it unlikely that the body of the young woman remained in the trunk from the evening of May 9 until its discovery, as Shamran Mehmood Raja defended: the corpse was too well preserved not to have been kept at a low temperature.
The victim's relatives "are relieved that the guilt of each of the accused is recognized by the courts, even if (they) believe that the sentences are not commensurate with the atrocity of the facts suffered by Sandra", said Julie Granier, lawyer for the civil parties, after the verdict.
Questioned after the verdict was announced, the lawyer for the main accused indicated that he did not wish to comment.
