Four Malaysians arrested in drug bust at Woodlands Checkpoint
SINGAPORE: Four Malaysians were arrested and about 3.2 kilogrammes of heroin and 250 grammes of “Ice” were seized at Woodlands Checkpoint on Wednesday.
The heroin and “Ice” are estimated to be worth some S$373,000 in total.
Officers had stopped a Malaysia-registered car at the checkpoint and uncovered 14 black bundles containing heroin and two bundles containing “Ice”.
A small amount of “Ice” was also recovered from the compartment behind the car radio.
The two men in the car were arrested and the suspects are being investigated for drug trafficking.
If convicted, they may face the death penalty.
Two other suspects, a woman and a man, who arrived at the checkpoint in another Malaysia-registered car later in the evening, were also arrested.
