Para-athlete faces five more charges of procuring women for prostitution

SINGAPORE - National para-athlete Adam Kamis, 36, who was charged last week with procuring a teenager for prostitution, now faces five more charges of the same offence.
Adam, who lost his right arm and his other arm paralysed in a motorcycle accident 12 years ago, had the additional charges read to him in court this week.
He is now accused of procuring six Singaporean women, aged 18 to 38, for the purpose of prostitution. He allegedly committed the offences between October 2014 and June this year (2015) at his flat in Yishun .
The Ironman race competitor, who gained popularity online as Adam Onearmrunner, was supposed to take part in the Asean Para Games to be held here in December.
He is represented by lawyer Ravinderpal Singh. Bail was granted at $40,000 and he is due back in court on Oct 26.
