look like,it will be between Lewis Hamiliton (McLaren-Mercedes) and Felipe Massa (Ferrari) for the title and Ferrari & McLaren-Mercedes for the constructor championship.
but still have quite a number of races left, who know maybe Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) can still catch-up and be the champion.

It is not fair to penalize L. Hamilton. If he is guilty, punish him in the next race. I watched the race, to avoid a collision with Kimi Raikkonen, he was forced to drive through the chicane, that route give him the advantage and he was clearly in front, that's is illegal. The team radio him to let Raikkonen
to have that advantage, he did so. And in next few seconds he overtook Raikkonen by out braking him.
From the pit wall, the team asked the Race control to confirm that they were comfortable that Lewis had allowed Kimi to repass, and they confirmed twice that they believed that the position had been given back in a manner that was ok.
McLaren team will appeal.

mcclaren will appeal but i suspect the authority will rule in favour of the earlier decision 2 make the F1 race a closer finish tiz season & more exciting......more revenue too if the championship is decided on the last day of the season.......kind of unfair though......

Record-breaking Vettel puts Toro Rosso on pole at MonzaRed Bull teams nearly locked out the front two rows of the grid for the Italian Grand Prix, as Toro Rosso’s Sebastian Vettel became Formula One’s youngest-ever polesitter in appalling weather conditions at Monza on Saturday.

It began to rain heavily with 15 minutes to go before the start of qualifying, and after the McLarens of Heikki Kovalainen and Lewis Hamilton set the pace in Q1, 21 year-old Vettel took over in Q2.

That session proved to be Hamilton’s undoing. After an exploratory run on inappropriate standard wet tyres - extreme-wets were the way to go throughout the hour - he just didn’t get his McLaren up to speed and ended it 15th on 1m 39.265s. He was not alone, however. A spin prevented BMW Sauber’s Robert Kubica from bettering 1m 36.697s which left him 11th and the first to fall, and behind Force India’s Giancarlo Fisichella (1m 36.698s) and Red Bull’s David Coulthard (1m 37.284s), Kimi Raikkonen languished 14th on 1m 37.522s for Ferrari.

Vettel made no mistakes in Q3, consistently outrunning his competition, even though corners such as Ascari were so wet that aquaplaning caught out many. The German pushed his STR3 round in 1m 37.555s, and though Kovalainen managed 1m 37.632s, it was not enough.

Behind them, Mark Webber’s final lap for Red Bull jumped him up to third on 1m 38.117s, pushing Red Bull stablemate Sebastien Bourdais down a place to fourth in the second Toro Rosso, on 1m 38.445s. The Frenchman was lucky to get away with a spin exiting Ascari.

Reflecting the highly unusual nature of this grid, Nico Rosberg was fifth for Williams on 1m 38.767s, ahead of Felipe Massa’s Ferrari, in which the Brazilian could not better 1m 38.894s.

The Toyotas of Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock sandwiched Fernando Alonso’s Renault, the Italian lapping in 1m 39.152s, the Spaniard in 1m 39.751s and the German 1m 39.787s. Nick Heidfeld, who spun in Q1, completed the top 10 with 1m 39.906s for BMW Sauber.

Behind Kubica, Fisichella, Coulthard, Raikkonen and Hamilton, Rubens Barrichello was 16th for Honda on 1m 36.510s ahead of Renault’s Nelson Piquet (1m 36.630s), Williams’ Kazuki Nakajima (1m 36.653s), Honda’s Jenson Button (1m 37.006s) and Force India’s Adrian Sutil (1m 37.417s).

With more rain possible for Sunday, a fantastic race is in prospect as Vettel and co seek to capitalise on their performances, as Kubica, Raikkonen and Hamilton do everything they can to overcome their tribulations

Felipe Massa looks to be planning a repeat of his Valencia performance after he took a comfortable pole position for the Singapore Grand Prix on Saturday evening.

The Brazilian upped the ante after McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari team mate Kimi Raikkonen had set the fastest times, lapping his F2008 in 1m 44.801s. With Hamilton next on 1m 45.465s ahead of Raikkonen on 1m 45.617s, it is probably safe to assume that Massa is running to a lighter fuel strategy.

McLaren’s Heikki Kovalainen split the two BMW Saubers on his final run, his 1m 45.873s leaving him between Robert Kubica (1m 45.779s) and Nick Heidfeld (1m 45.964s).

Monza winner Sebastian Vettel was the only Red Bull-backed runner to make the top 10 this time, taking his Toro Rosso to seventh on 1m 46.244s ahead of Toyota’s Timo Glock (1m 46.328s) and the Williams duo of Nico Rosberg (1m 46.611s) and Kazuki Nakajima (a top 10 first timer with 1m 47.547s).

Q2 weeded out Toyota’s Jarno Trulli (1m 45.038s), Honda’s Jenson Button (1m 45.133s), Red Bull’s Mark Webber and David Coulthard (1m 45.212s and 1m 45.298s respectively), and the unfortunate Fernando Alonso, whose Renault quit on him with fuel supply problems in Turn 18 during his out lap.

Renault’s Nelson Piquet lost out to Coulthard’s final effort in Q1, the Brazilian’s 1m 46.037s leaving him 16th in the line-up. Sebastien Bourdais didn’t get it together either, failing to push his Toro Rosso beyond 1m 46.389s. Rubens Barrichello’s weekend didn’t get any better for Honda, with 1m 46.583s for 18th.

The two Force Indias were at the back. Adrian Sutil lapped in 1m 46.940s, but Giancarlo Fisichella did nothing to endear himself to his mechanics, who had worked flat out to get him running near the end of the session following his earlier practice shunt, only for him to put his repaired VJM01 off into the barriers in Turn 3.

massa looks likely to win the s'pore's leg of the gp race......lewis hamilton will find it difficult 2 overtake him with ferrari's raikkonen coming in third in the grid position.....

those racers commented that the road's track is narrow, very little area for overtaking and very difficult to do it also.
so the pit-spot and weather will play a very crucial.

so far,the safety care being out twice due to some minor accident.
and Ferrari is having a rought time here.
Messa drove off while re-fueling with the hose still attached during the first accident.
now no chance of any points, while Hamilton should widen his lead over Messa by at least 3 points.
