France's horrible run continued with a 0:1 home loss to Belarus.

Italy looked like following suit but came back from behind to beat Estonia 2:1 to halt the rot.

Surprisingly, England turned out and turned around comfortably with 4:0 over Bulgaria.

The World Cup winner and runner-up, Spain and Holland surprised nobody with easy victories respectively 4:0 over Liechtenstein and 5:0 over San Marino.

Surprisingly, England turned out and turned around comfortably with 4:0 over Bulgaria.

I like the new position of Rooney ( free to roam anywhere in front of the 2 mid-fielders), this time Capello is spot on. Why waste your best players waiting for the deliveries to come? Rooney has so much to his game then an out and out striker.

And Joe Hart is really good, so this really limit the number of gifts.

However, one of the major short comings of England is defenders, use to be England strong area. Let's see the coming game on Tuesday, how they perform against stronger team and away.

Rooney had a very good game against Bulgaria. He was involved in all 4 goals, assisting on 3 goals and assisting the assistor on the first.
The latest news is that he is still in the squad to face Switzerland, despite allegations about his private life in the tabloids News Of The World and Sunday Mirror. He was alledged to have hired a high class call girl several times while his wife was pregnant.

The England midfield looked better without Lampard, with Rooney helping out Barry and Gerrard, and Walcott and Milner and subs Adam Johnson and Ashley Young marauding down the flanks.

Pity about Dawson's injury but Cahill should be an even better replacement, given time.

sigh ... Things have just not been the same since WC 2010 ended. The summer recess and EPL move to Mio Tv has significantly dampened betting interest.

With the elections round the corner, I was perhaps unrealistically expecting that the real admiral with the strong right hand would pull off a miracle and implement the cross carraige law early so that EPL can return to Starhub. Unfortunately no such luck and MDA announced that the cross carraige law would be deferred until 2011. :oIo::oIo::oIo:

Looks like he only has the courage to persecute authors and young blogger and got no courage to take on Singtel/Starhub.

Not true. Remember Ooh Aah Cantona and Jean Pierre Papin?

They succeeded as individual players at club levels, but not for France at international level. Just like Kevin Keegan in the 70s when England plunged into dark ages.

Mention David Ginola and Houllier will have another heart attack.

Dutch 5-0, song bor? LOL :p:p:p

Holland 5:0 against who? Where's that place?

England 4:0 against Bulgaria, previous World Cup semi-finalist.

Actually, I'm surprised. I thought England would rake up another upset loss like France.

Holland, England, Germany and Italy are all in driving seats already.

France made a comeback. Portugal looks like in trouble. Bulgaria looks like in quicksand.

Does that mean England is more than half as hopeless as Manchester City?

No, If Man City play these players every weekend
they can replace one of the top 4.
And can sell away some useless FTs.
Make it 7, with Micah Richards.
