Iran has risen back to eighth place on an annual list of the countries where it is hardest to practise the Christian faith.

This marks a return to Iran’s 2021 ranking on the World Watch List, which is produced by Christian charity Open Doors International, after a year in ninth place.

For the past five years, Iran has oscillated between eighth and ninth place on the list.

This year, Iran has moved back above Afghanistan, which last year topped the list, even ahead of perennial “winner” North Korea.

The other countries in the top 10 are Somalia, Yemen, Eritrea, Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan and Sudan.

Iran’s rise by one point in Open Doors’ scoring system was “mainly caused by an increase in reported violent incidents”, said the charity, “including an abduction”.

“The outlook for Iranian Christians, in particular converts from Islam to Christianity, is by no means improving,” Open Doors said….

The arabs invaded, conquered and stole land under the guise that they paid for those lands. Even the turks followed suit and stole churches in the name of 'paying for them'.

There were religious wars in Europe during the 1500s to 1600s. But that's ancient history. In modern times, religious wars have been reduced to guerilla warfare because thankfully most folks are sensible. But the radicals remain a major problem.

It wasn't so much religious war but more a nationalist thing. Survival. To get rich in tge old days means seizing your opponents properties.

Religious wars are guerilla warfare today because most of the religious fanatics do not wear military fatigues into battle. They hide behind their own civilians to shoot at their enemy. When their own fellow moslem civilians get killed, it is good news because their dead bodies can be used for PR purposes to drum up even more support. That's how the moslem religious fanatics fight in Iraq, Afghanistan and in Israel.
