In a shocking incident, four men in Malwani area in Malad West, Mumbai, gang-raped a dog, leaving him in a pool of blood. A non-governmental organisation for animals, 'Animals Matter To Me' (ATMT), said that the dog had been taken to a veterinary hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
A Deccan Chronical report said that the dog had been missing for a day after which he was found in a pool of blood. According to the founder of AMTM, Dr Ankita Pathak, the dog is in severe trauma and gets scared whenever someone tries to approach him.
"The dog is in severe trauma. Whenever someone would come near or try to touch it, it would get scared or scream. Its private parts are mutilated in such a way that it could not happen unless someone forcibly harmed it. It appears that someone tried to fold its hind legs near the pelvis. Presently, we are trying to stabilise the dog. It is under medication for the pain. We are trying to reduce the infection as it was bleeding for an entire day," Dr Pathak said.
The doctors are currently trying to stabilize the dog and give him treatment for his pain. They are also treating him to reduce the infection which led to him bleed for an entire day.
Sudha Fernandes, a local resident who used to regularly feed dogs, said that she kept the food near the ailing dog and did not allow anyone to touch him. She also said she'd file a police complaint against the accused.
Meanwhile, an auto driver who was passing by had heard the dog wail in pain, and when he reached the spot of the crime, the four men, who were completely drunk, fled the scene.
