Better still, find a successor and help him win the election, thus keeping PP fiefdom in opposition hands.

This will look good on the entire oppositions too - CST has won 5/6 elections, held onto his constituency for 20+ years but he knew when to let go. They should harp on this fact and this would look bad on PAP who refuse to hold by-elections when their MP pass away or the power hungry SM, MM who refuse to leave the govt.
