A couple have been arrested after police discovered videos showing a baby playing with a gun, at times putting it into her mouth.
Police in Indiana said they found the footage on the phone of Michael Barnes, 19, who was questioned after he agreed to sell a handgun to an undercover officer through a transaction made on social media.
He was arrested along with the one-year-old's mother, Toni Wilson, 22, and both were charged with neglect, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and allowing a child to possess a firearm.
In the videos, both adults can be heard encouraging the infant to say "pow", "bang" and "shoot", and no one tries to stop her as she put the gun in her mouth.
Police say Wilson told officers her daughter was holding a pellet gun, but investigators say it was a .40-caliber handgun.
The gun's magazine appeared to be removed but it was not clear if ammunition was in the chamber, police said.
The child and two other one-month-old siblings have been placed in emergency care, authorities said.
Barnes is the father of the twin siblings, but not the one-year-old.
