STOMPer surprised to see cop with gun waiting at taxi stand

STOMPer Fandi was surprised to see this cop armed with a baton and pistol waiting at a taxi stand for a cab.

From the uniform he was wearing, the man appears to be from an auxilliary police organisation.

Although auxiliary police organisations have been known to charter taxis for their staff, this does not appear to be the case, as he was seen waiting publicly at a taxi stand.

Confirm not SPF. Belt is brown in colour. I think it is CISCO's.

maybe he's taking a cab to return to base or go somewhere and not to go home.

The news I read these days are that policemen use their pistols to commit suicide. With gun control so tight and strict in Singapore, there is no need for policemen to carry guns. A Taser will do.

If there is really to be fire fight, there is that SPF SWAT Team to rely on.

Carrying fire arms, just make policemen think that they are policemen in a police state. They are carried away.

The decision to continue to arm auxiliary officers is a long held doctrine not to weaken the security barrier in terms of deterrence. A taser will not help in an armed situation. Guns are readily available in Thailand.

The suicide unfortunately is quite sad.

i think transport never come, so gotta take cab. last time cisco also take bus with firearm. only recent years more standard then got transport arrange for them. the hair also too long, must give warning letter to him.

Wear machiam police uniform with pistol then these companies can charge more.....if not they are just 'normal' security guards. Most of them can't shoot properly anyways when push comes to shove.
