Bodoh Lim knows peasants are seething with rage but chose to ignore it. When her peasants howled over the converted workers' quarters in their backyard, she simply told them off like a typical feudal manor lord. This is the main reason for the regime's expected loss in Aljunied.

Actually, words out on the street is that what transpired in PAP's downfall in Aljunied GRC was caused by MBT.

In 2008/2009, MBT's ministry decided to convert a secondary school in the middle of Serangoon Garden Residential estate into a dormitory housing over a thousand foreign workers. That area is inappropriate for such a dormitory because many of the residents are old folks and women and children. To make things worse, there is a girls' primary school within literally 2 minutes walking distance.

That caused a huge uproar in the estate and surrounding areas. The residents in the estate and surrounding areas are mostly well-to-do, middle upper class Singaporeans with lots of connections. Many of the residents were loyal PAP supporters in the past who now felt betrayed by PAP. Also, a large number of the residents are current and former civil servants. The residents apparently used their family and social connections to ensure that PAP suffer the consequences of its decision in Aljunied.

The result speak for itself. There are murmurs that Lim HH received the lowest votes in Serangoon Garden.

No surprise here.

Moral of the story is that if you backstab your most loyal core of supporters, you will suffer the consequences in multiplied form.

The Serangoon Garden fiasco was what nailed PAP's coffin in Aljunied.

Now it is going to be almost impossible for PAP to retake Aljunied.

This is what happens when your put PR/foreigners before the citizens.

The Serangoon Gdn incident made so many residents angry but they ignored. That incident made many PAP supporter switch camp. I know cos a couple of my friends lives there. Many of their neighbours even openly declared that they will be voting for opposition. PAP grassroot not working so give wrong info.

The other thing is, people's concern had been fallen on deaf ear for so many years so everyone give up talking. This gives the MP a wrong sense that no noise means everything is good. When one gives up, you'll get a surprise later.
